Albert Lipka Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather Albert Lipka on May 13, 2019 at the TBRHSC. Born on October 4, 1936 to Annie and Alex. Al spent his early years and you would have to say most of his free time fishing for pickeral but thought the real challenge was in trout fishing. He was a dedicated music fan (50 & 60's). When in his early years Albert played baseball for the Fort William - East Enders as a pitcher. Albert (Lefty) was recognized weekly in Saturdays's paper for his pitching excellence. He also enjoyed broomball, hockey, snowmobiling and hunting. Al retired from Bombardier after a lengthy service. The family really appreciated all his buddies that visited during his stay at the hospital to reminisce about the good old days. Al is survived by: wife Barbara, sons Darren and Darryl of Calgary, brother John of Owen Sound, sister Mary Kruk, nephew Brian Kruk, friend Leslie Kruk and numerous nephews and nieces. Al was predeceased by sisters Pearl and Jean; brother Nicky, sister-in-law Marjorie (Bean). The family extends their appreciation to the staff at the Renal Clinic and the nurses of 1A for their kind and exceptional care given. Donations can be directed to the Kidney Foundation and/or Cancer Fund.
