Alex Henry Obituary

Alexander Heller HenryMr. Alex Henry aged 79 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Pine River, Manitoba, he was the son of the late Mary and Matthew Nakonechny. Educated in local schools in Pine River. He was employed as a welder for Great Lakes for 28 years, retired in 1983. Alex was married to Annie Mills and she predeceased him in 1995. His main interests were his family, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren, singles club, traveling, avid member of Branch #6 Royal Canadian Legion. Survived by 5 sons, George Anthony Henry, Micheal Henry, Terry Henry (Faith),Keith Henry (Elizabeth), Rodney Henry, 3 daughters Kathleen Duguay, Wendy McIver (Donald), Cheryl Henry; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a brother Robert Nakon (Kay) of B.C. , 2 sisters Joanne Nash, Bernice Fortier (Jake), and a special friend Vi Morgan. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Annie, two grandchildren Rodney and Andrew, numerous brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service for Mr. Alex Henry will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Jenkens Funeral Home, proceeded by a legion service under the auspices of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. Services are complete in the chapel with interment at a later date. Memorial donations to St.Joseph's Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the medical staff of St. Joseph's Hospital of 5 South for their warm and kind care.
