Alexander Martin Obituary

Mr. Alexander "Sasha" Martin passed away peacefully on Friday December 28th, 2012 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre at the age of 59.Sasha had a zest for life and a passion for cooking. He loved fishing and campfires and his Fish Fry's for the neighbours at Whitefish Lake will never be forgotten. He could also always be counted on to help his friends and always loved to meet new campers.As a Chef, Sasha had worked at the Valhalla Inn, the Italian Hall and most recently at Lac Des Iles Mines until his poor health forced him to stop. It was at these places where he met and made many of his good friends.Alex will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years; Sonya, his sons Keith and Dan (Samara), his grandchildren Kylar "KJ" and Ryleigh, his mother Vera, his brother Walter (Donna), his sister Jane and his nieces and nephews Russell, Vanessa, Adrian and Chris.Cremation has taken place and a Family Gathering will be held in the summer. If any friends so desire donations may be made in Alex's Memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Sympathy cards may be sent to the family at 322 Syndicate Ave. North P7C 3W1.The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to all of Alex's Close friends that were there for him at the end; Ron Daciw, Jim DePaulo, Mike Karl, John Wanecki, Mike "Columbo" Porrier and Mike Prosser.
