Schooling includes P.A.C.I., Confederation College, & Lakehead University. He was a long time employee of RuggedAir Systems, and enjoyed scouting, camping, collecting comics, coins, stamps etc.

Special thanks go to Lorri Kozyra and partner Rick Rogozinski for always being there for support and help.

Fred was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and confidant to all those around him. Always helpful, he often went out of his way to support those around him. Conversations with Fred were light, friendly and chalk full of wisdom with a dash of humour. Fred's memory will live forever within the many people that he touched throughout his life.

As per his wishes, there will not be any formal services. Cremation and interment is to be performed by Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Regional Cancer Centre or The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre would be appreciated.

Cathy & I are sad to hear of your loss.
Fred was a great friend who will be missed by many.

Back in the day, he loved playing cards, pool (Pool Halls & Prosvita), collecting comics, board games (Risk) & shuffle board.
I recall going to Port Arthur Billiards. It had an upstairs bowling alley (we had to set our own pins) & playing pinball when it was illegal in most cities.

One story about board games....
Fred owned a Ouji Board.
We tried it one evening.
Had some strange & interesting answers....
We then asked, 'what is the number of our math teacher, Mr Ellis'?
It provided a 345-xxxx number.
We then looked it up in the phone book.
It was correct. We were wide-eyed & shocked!
I can't recall playing anymore Ouji again....scarry times. :-)

I also remember playing the first video game, Pong, in Fred's parents basement.

We visited Thunder Bay a few years back.
Mr Bingham was super nice and threw a party the night we arrived.
I got to see many of my neighbours, childhood friends & people I had known during my 7 years working at Pool 7.
Fred & Woody were my two oldest. It was wonderful to see them and everyone that attended.
Many thanks Bobby.

RIP my friend...I will miss you always.
You were a fine man.

Our sincere condolences to Dawn and Fred's family. We shared many good times with great conversations and debates when they were at their summer property in Pass Lake. Those days will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Fred. Ray and Carol Hammerberg.

Fred was my best friend in Thunder Bay. Ive known him since public school and, although I moved away in 1980, he always gave me a place to stay when I came back for visits. Too many shared experiences to recount, or remember. I miss him already.
