Mrs. Alice Ettie Dickinson (nee Vezina) age 89 years, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Alice was born in Fort William, ON, on April 3, 1936. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse in Stanley. In 1947 the family moved to Montreal's South shore. She worked for Woods MFG in the 1940's making paper bags. In the early 1950's, Alice worked at Northern Electric, refurbishing phones. In 1955 she met Andrew and in 1956 they were married. In 1964 they welcomed their only child Wendie. In 1970 Alice went to work for Eaton's in Montreal, where she received six diplomas for becoming a certified mastectomy fitter. In 1981 Alice, with her husband and daughter moved back to Thunder Bay, she worked for Shoppers Home Health Care and the Red Cross Homemakers. In 1984 Alice became a Nana to Chris. He was the light of her life. Christopher George she would always call him. She loved him more than life itself. In 2010 Alice lost Andrew. Alice met her second-life partner Allan Shaw. They moved to Fort Frances, where they enjoyed their home, camp and many many hours of fishing. Alice and Allan moved back to Thunder Bay, and in 2020 lost Allan. Mom loved her time with family, friends and neighbours.

My mother's words were always: "Never fear death, death makes way for new life as the circle keeps going."

Alice will be lovingly remembered by her Daughter Wendie Lemieux (Nelson), grandson Christopher, great grandson Sebastian, siblings Bernadine Hoey (Marty), Adeline Guay (Morris) and Gene Vezina (Luc), as well by numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street.
