Alison Peat Obituary

1953 – 2021
Alison passed away quietly in her sleep at Pinewood Nursing Home following a long-term battle with type one diabetes and heart issues. Following Alison's 25-year career at the Parliamentary Library in Ottawa, she returned to her family home in Thunder Bay where she participated in the local Celiac and Diabetes Societies and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church as well as travelling frequently to Western Canada to visit with family. Alison will be deeply missed by her surviving sister Elizabeth, brother-in-law Alan; godson Matthew Breakey and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jean and Jeff Peat; brother Jeff and sisters Christine Coull (Fraser) and Barbara Welsh (Bill). Particular thanks to her long-term caregiver, LeeAnn Hammerstrom. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Thunder Bay.
