Mr. Allan R. , age 69 years, resident of 27 Hodge Street passed away at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on November 19, 2009. Born on August 9, 1940 in Port Arthur, where he was raised and educated. He attended Pine Street School and PACI, Teacher's College and later Lakehead University. He started teaching with the Lakehead District School Board in 1963, retiring in 1995 as Vice Principal of CD Howe School. After retirement, Allan enjoyed working with the Shuniah Volunteer Fire Department and the friends that he made there. He was also very musical and loved the time spent with his band "Robbie and The Rascals". He was a devoted member of Saalem Church. Allan is survived by: his wife June, two sons Richard (Ashley), Bryan (Stacey, Carter) and four beautiful grandchildren, Trenton Allan Hodgins and Kelli Marie Hodgins of Moncton New Brunswick and Macie and Rhian (Thunder Bay). He is also survived by sisters Cindy (David) Gray, Teresa (George) Awayz in Toronto and brother Lyle Hodgins as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by mother Gwen, father Bonner, brothers Merrill and Glenn and sister Cathy. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held with interment in Riverside Cemetery. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations to Saalem Church, 21 Walkover Street would be greatly appreciated by the family.
