ALLAN PHELPS Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Al Phelps announces his unexpected passing on February 17, 2026, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, after he suffered a brain aneurysm. An energetic and devoted family man, he provided unwavering support to those he loved throughout his life.

Born in Thunder Bay, Al was an entrepreneur and approached every opportunity with enthusiasm, intelligence, and determination. He made Toronto his home with his family for the past 25 years, yet even in the big city he never lost his deep love of the outdoors.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Valerie (née Stirling), his daughter Heather (Tony), his son Jayson (Suzanne), and his cherished granddaughters - Alana, Alexa, Morgan & Rowan. Al treasured time spent with family and friends, especially at camp on Bass Lake and later in the Blue Mountains, and he found great joy in fishing, renovating and simply being in nature.

Al's legacy lives on in the values he passed to his children and granddaughters: hard work, humour, loyalty, and a deep love for family. The family is pleased that Al was able to contribute, through transplant, to the Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN), so that others may enjoy life saving benefits.
