Alonzo Nuttal Obituary

Mr. Alonzo Washburn Nuttall, 85 years, of Hurkett, Ontario passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, Thunder Bay, Ontario.Alonzo had a great love of the outdoors.He enjoyed berry picking, fishing and hunting.He also worked outdoors for most of his life.He has worked for the Department of Lands & Forests, was a tourist outfitter in Armstrong, Ontario, a trapper and a commercial fisherman.In his later years he spent most of his time flying.He piloted for Nuttall's Charter Service which he owned and operated.Alonzo also enjoyed music and having a good time.He met and touched a lot of lives in his 85 years, but his greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren who have fond memories of those times.He will be sadly missed.Predeceased by his parents - Mary and Louis Nuttall, by one brother John and by one sister Isabel Taylor; he is survived by his wife Victoria, by seven children - Karen Nuttall (& Al Matychuk) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Calvin (& Natalie) Nuttall and Scott (& France) Nuttall both of Hurkett, Ontario, Connie Nuttall (& Ross Jones) of Calgary, Alberta, David (& wife Lois) Nuttall of Thunder Bay, Ava Lynn (& Gordon) Walter of Nipigon, Ontario and Christie Lee Nuttall of Portland, Oregon, by thirteen grandchildren - Shelley (& Dean) Brizard, Bronwyn and Graeme Nuttall, Tiffany, Zakary, Allie and Jack Nuttall, Gordon (& Heather) Nuttall, Benjamin Nuttall and Margaret Nuttall, Jennifer (& Brian) Goss, Kellianne (& Michael) Fanti and Allison Walter, by five great grandchildren - Jordan, Jenna and Brook Brizard, Jared and Ryan Fanti, by one brother James (& Ethel) Nuttall of Hurkett and by sister-in-law Ethel Nuttall of Thunder Bay.Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.According to Alonzo's wishes cremation has taken place.A memorial service for Alonzo Nuttall, in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd. , Nipigon will be held on Monday, October 25, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurkett Community Centre, Hurkett, Ontario with the Rev. D. McClure of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Nipigon officiating.Interment of cremains will be in intered Hurkett Cemetary, Hurkett, ON.Friends so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or to the charity of their choice."
