Alphonse passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7th, 2003 in McCausland Hospital, Terrace Bay with his family by his side. Al was born in Fannystelle, Manitoba on July 6th, 1927, to Arthur and Rosa Regis. He came to Terrace Bay in 1949 and wasa loyal employee of Kimberly Clark for 39 years, retiring in 1987. On September 19th, 1953, Al married Peggy Boon and they would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year. Al was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Rosa, brothers Emile Paul, Lucien and sister Theresa, parents-in-law Charles and Eleanor Boon, brothers-in-law Norman Boon, Jim Boon, John Gauthier and sisters-in-law Jeanne Boon and Lois Fenlon. Al is survived by devoted wife Peggy and their six loving children Michael (Louise), Ralph (Marilyn), Annie (Jim), Darlene (Mike), Patti (Tony), Kevin (Vicki), 15 special grandchildren and one great grandson. Also surviving are his brothers Dominique, Julian and Dave, and sisters Rachel, Simone, Gertrude, and Lucy, in-laws Marlene and Jim Kostecki, Gus and Shirley Boon, Gerry Gauthier, Tom Fenlon, Lynn Dodd and many nieces and nephews. In his younger days Al enjoyed hunting and fishing with his longtime friend John Santerre. After retiring he enjoyed camping and fishing out on Lake Superior withhis good friend Jack Moore. Al was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church for 49 years, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #223, Terrace Bay Superior Seniors and a Life Member of McCausland Hospital. Cremation has taken place. prayers will be said on Friday, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Terrace Bay and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The McCausland Hospital Long Term Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.God saw that he was tiredAnd a cure was not to beSo he wrapped his arms aroundhimAnd he whispered 'Come with Me'Rest well Al, DadLove your familyOn-line Condolences may be made at
