Anna Pucci Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Pucci announce her passing at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Aiello Calabro, Italy in 1908, Anna married Michele Pucci. Together, they had five children and after Michele passed away in 1947, Anna was left to raise her children on her own. In 1959, together with three of her daughters, she immigrated to Canada to join her son Ernesto who came to Thunder Bay six years earlier. Anna was a very caring and loving person who always put others before herself. She was always very active and enjoyed looking after her children and grandchildren. Anna loved to cook and in her younger years, enjoyed working in her garden. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church.Anna will be sadly missed by her loving children: Ernesto (Maria) Pucci, Emma (Guerino) Mantello, Rosaria (Antonio) Bernardo, Maria (Joseph) Sanzo; fifteen grandchildren: Michael (Suzanne), Sergio (Holly), Anna (Rob), Nick, Mary (Ralph), Mike, Eugenio (Carmel), John (Rosemary), Maria (Albert), Frank, Mike (Holly), Frank, Hector, Giulia, and Lauri (Andre); nineteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives In Canada and Italy. She was predeceased by her husband Michele Pucci in Italy; her parents Nicholi and Angela in Italy; daughter Giuseppina Vecchio in 1986; four brothers: Francesco, Luigi, Eugeino and Salvatore Cuglietta, all in Italy; three sisters: Maria Cuglietta, Giuseppina Caputo and Rosina Virgore in Italy. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 3rd leaving Harbourview Funeral Centre at 9:00 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, 123 Hilldale Road. Entombment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:00 p.m. the same evening in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Anna's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to St. Anthony's Church."
