Antanas Stankevicius Obituary

STANKEVICIUSMr. Antanas (Tony) Stankevicius passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7th, 2003 after a brief illness. He was born March 2nd, 1918 in Lithuania and came to Canada in 1949. He began working in the bush camps, later moving on to various construction jobs where he was well known for his masonry work. In 1952 he sent for his wife Elfrieda and their 3 small children in Germany. Tony was predeceased by his parents and relatives in Lithuania, and his son Tony (1972) in Thunder Bay. He is survived by his loving wife Elfrieda of 60 years, sons Peter (Millie) and Alex (Darlene), both of Thunder Bay and Bryan of Vancouver, B.C. ; daughters Maria of Vancouver, B.C. , Monika (George) Milne of Abbotsford, B.C. , and Susan (Allan) McMillan of Thunder Bay. Also survived by grandchildren Steven and Marni Stankevicius of Thunder Bay and Susan and Caroline Milne of Abbotsford, B.C. Other relatives also survive in Lithuania. As per Tony's wishes, no services will be held."
