Antonio De Coppi Obituary

Mr. Antonio 'Tony' Giovanni De Coppi, age 73 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died peacefully at home on Sunday, February 15, 2004. Tony was born in Prata di Pordenone, Italy. He moved to Canada in 1957, settling in Fort William. In 1960, Tony married Augusta Gaiot. She predeceased him in 1998. During his working years Tony worked as a labourer, most of them spent at Gasparotto Construction. He loved fishing, hunting and always enjoyed gardening. Spending time with his grandchildren was always very important to him. Tony is survived by his children Paolo and wife Darla, Ornella (James), Lawrence and wife Gena and Robert, grandchildren Joseph and Nicholas and sister Francesca Munaretto in Italy. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Pietro and Ida, wife Augusta, daughter Elena and brother Arduino. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2004 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass in St. Peter's Church at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. B. A. Campbell. Interment will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Vigil Services will be offered on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Antonio De Coppi in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
