Asa Danielsson Obituary

Mrs. Asa Christina Danielsson, age 78 years old, passed away peacefully at Southbridge Roseview on May 23, 2023 with her husband, Bengt, by her side.

Asa is survived by her husband Bengt and her sons Anders (Carla) and Peter (Denise). Her grandchildren Derek (Erin), Jordan (Kaity), Travis (Taylor), Brandon and Jasmine. Her great-grandchildren Dillon, Dallas, Rylan, London and Nash. Her sister Ulla (Tyrgve) Wass, sister-in-law Anita (Elov) Holmberg and nieces and nephews in Sweden. Asa is predeceased by her parents Lina and Tore Wass and her sister Inger Schnaus.

Asa was born on December 16, 1944, in Borlange, Sweden. She married Bengt on July 16, 1962 and together they had their 2 sons. In 1967, they immigrated to Thunder Bay, Ontario and built a successful life together.

Asa was known for her baking and wonderful cooking skills. She was always proud to prepare food from her homeland of Sweden. Her grandchildren's favourite memories include Grandma's pancakes, potato bread and Christmas baking. Asa showed her love by feeding her family and friends - her recipes will live on through her grandsons. She had a green thumb, a love for animals, yard sales and a good card game.

Bengt and the family would like to thank Southbridge Roseview for the exceptional care and compassion Asa received during her time with them. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Asa's life will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.

“Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow”

Deepest condolences to Bengt and his family. I am so sad for you and your family. I will remember Asa for her kindness and generosity. And her great cakes. She was a true friend and always had time to share coffee and stories with us. RIP dear lady.
