SVOBODA
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Vivian Svoboda in her 79th year on October 1, 2025. To her family she was simply Viv. Born November 28, 1945, she grew up in Geraldton where she eventually met her husband, Peter. Their first move was to Caramat. Then it was on to Hornepayne with the birth of their son, Mark Gerald Svoboda (born in Thunder Bay). Next stop Belleville and eventually Mississauga. Barbara was active with her church and worked as Secretary for the United Church in Streetsville. She spent many Senior days at Peace Lutheran Church in Mississauga and she always took her prize sheltie, Tucker. Summer vacations were spent in Thunder Bay amongst her family. Viv loved company and she always served tea and a dinner trip to the Mandarin was mandatory (especially if her niece Susan was in town). Viv was predeceased by her husband Pete in 2012 and her constant companion, Tucker. She is also predeceased by her brother, Lloyd and sister, Joyce. Viv leaves behind Mark, Samantha, brothers Alan, Ken, Doug (Irene), sister Lois (Herb) and many nieces and nephews.
Viv, you were truly loved and will be dearly missed.
