Barry Wilen Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Ronald Wilen on February 1, 2022 at the age of 67. Barry was born on March 1, 1954 in Port Arthur, attending Queen Elizabeth and Oliver Road Schools and Gron Morgan Technical Institute. Working locally as a carpenter with Fanti Cabinets and other contractors, he later moved to Toronto to secure employment with Ellis and Dawn Construction. In Barry's spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, waterskiing or just splashing around Dog Lake and Trout Lake spending precious time with family and friends who he loved dearly. He will always be in our hearts and forever missed by his mother Dorothy, siblings Linda (Arnold), Ryan (Gail), Janet Johnston, Wendy Northway (Terry) and Karl (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by dad Ronald; brother Terry (Monica); grandparents Paul and Amelia Pettersen and Gunnard and Fanny Wilen. In keeping with Barry's wishes a private family service will take place at a later date with interment at Riverside Cemetery.

I did not know Barry or his family and siblings. However I do remember Gunnerd and Fanny. They used to visit our family in Nolalu when I was young. They were cousins of our family. My maiden name was Tenkula, and my parents were Adolph and Jenny. Just trying to make a family connection at a sad time.

This is for Linda, you didn't know me but we went to high school together.
Very sad to hear about the loss of Barry.
I too have lost a lot of friends and family and I know how it feels,
He was too young, I lost my son at 34.
I try to comfort the people that I know.
I just wanted you to know that our high school friends are with you all the way.

Barry was a great friend for many many years. He always made time for his friends and loved to chat. Rest In Peace. My deepest sympathy to his family. Sincerely Joyce McLeod
