BEATRICE SAMAS Obituary
March 25, 1937 - September 10, 2025
Beatrice "Bea" Samas, a longtime resident of Rosemount, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025. Born in Fort William, Ontario, on March 25, 1937, she was the youngest daughter of Andrew and Julia Samas of Thunder Bay.
Bea dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse and was known for her warmth, quiet strength, and generous spirit. She loved to sew and knit socks and shawls for friends and family, and she found great joy in traveling.
Though she never married or had children of her own, Bea's heart was full of love for her family. She is lovingly remembered by her nieces Andrea Wood and Elaine Bell; nephews Richard (Kim) Samas, Stephen (Patti Anne) Samas, and Robert (Michelle) Samas; and by her many great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Yvonne Samas.
Bea was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Julia Samas, her older sister Julie and brother-in-law Ernie Matson, her brother Andrew Samas, and her niece's husband Rodney Bell.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, May Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario, with a light lunch to follow. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Thunder Bay, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Charity of Your Choice in Bea's memory.
Her family and friends will cherish memories of her kindness, her devotion to nursing, her handmade gifts, and her adventurous spirit.

My condolences to friends and family of Beatrice. She was a dear friend of my mother Irene Matson whom she has now joined. Many memories of Beatrice at Christmas celebrations with my aunt Julie and uncle Ernie Matson. Rest in peace.

Dear Family!
I am the daughter of Leona Barr. I have great memories of Bea when we would go to Minneapolis and she would always come by the hotel or we would go out for dinner. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with especially when she was shopping with my mom. Her smile will always be in my memory. My condolences as you grieve her loss. She was a special friend to my mom.
