I first met Bernie in 9th Grade. We later went our separate ways both geographically and in work, but I always liked and respected him as a quiet, calm and dignified man. I am not surprised that he gave his life to the care of others. My prayers and sympathies to his family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Bernie. He was one of my favourites. A man of very little words but I always got a smile out of him.
