Bonnie Squier Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our sister, Bonnie Squier, on December 23, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Thunder Bay, with her family by her side.

Bonnie was born in Port Arthur, August 14, 1948, and spent her whole life with and for her family. Bonnie loved and always looked forward to family gatherings, any birthday, anniversary, or holiday get together. She was very sociable and would travel on the bus all over the city to

see family and friends, so much that she knew bus drivers by their first names. At any social occasion, you knew Bonnie was there because she would yell ‘hello sister', or ‘hello brother', ‘where have you been, I haven't seen you yet'.

Bonnie worked at the Cumberland Street KFC for 25 years, where many people got to know her. After retirement, besides her social life, reading, and word searches were part of her pastime. But her favorite thing was watching the many nieces and nephews or going out with her sister, Gail.

Bonnie will be sadly missed by her sisters, Gail Andrews, Heather Deprophetis (Tony) and brothers, Jim Squier (Suzy), Edward Kotovich (Francine), brother-in-law Larry Perrier, and stepsister Donna Squier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

She is predeceased by her parents, Nick and Oriel Kotovich, brother Wayne Kotovich, brother-in-law Charlie Andrews, and sister Leona Perrier.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Ed Long. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Due to Covid restrictions, seating is limited. Please call the funeral home at 346-9880 if you wish to attend. The service will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well. Proof of vaccination will not be required but wearing masks and social distancing will be observed.

I worked with Bonnie for a number of years at KFC. She was always a joy to work with. She had a playful side to her and a smile on her face. Rest peacefully my dear friend. We will never forget you.
