BRENDA KARHU Obituary

BRENDA KARHU
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brenda Karhu sadly announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Brenda was born on August 21, 1947 to James and Doris O'Connor. She married the love of her life, Tauno Karhu on April 30, 1965, sharing 59 years and three beautiful sons together. Brenda's greatest joy was her family and always looked forward to any get-together to spend time with them. Coffee was always on, ready for a visit and a chat about what was happening in the world and with her family that she cherished.

Brenda loved her home, where she would pass the day with a challenging puzzle. Mornings spent in a good card game with Tauno, always enjoying when she would say "I skunked you."

Brenda was a gifted accordion player. She loved to play for the residents of the Walford. Her time spent there gave her great joy and she made many special friends, and touched many lives with her welcoming smile and easy conversation. Brenda will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her loving husband Tauno; sons Rod (Tracy) Stephen (Corinne) Ian (Dayna); grandchildren Tyler (Emilee) Dylan (Alana) Logan, and Elliot; great grandchildren Kingsley, Xander, Sienna, and Ryan; siblings Shirley (Allan) and Brian (Wanda); many beloved nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the first responders and the staff of the TBRHSC Emergency and ICU for their care and compassion.

Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Brenda's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Forever in our hearts until we meet again.
