Mr. Brian Larson, age 67 years of Otto Street, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, April 28th, 2011. Brian worked for Canada Post his whole life, retiring in 1999‚ He enjoyed fishing and camping, especially at Billy Glenn's camp at Obonga Lake. He also enjoyed many special trips to Sparkling Lake‚ During his younger years, Brian was very involved with the Lob Ball Baseball League. An avid curler, Brian competed in the Canada Post National Championships, winning several times. A member of the Port Arthur Curling Club for almost 40 years, Brian volunteered for many events, especially the fish derby where he was known as the master chili maker. The Club was Brian's second home where he would be cheering on his beloved Maple Leafs or solving all the world's problems with his many buddies. Brian is survived by his sister Dolly (Scotty) Dunphy, of Salmon Arm, B.C.; brother Bruce; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Barry, as well as siblings John, Cecil "Satch" and Jerry. Visitation in celebration of Brian's life will be held on Tuesday evening, May 3rd, 2011 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street‚ Afterwards, everyone is welcome to gather at the Port Arthur Curling Club for a final farewell.
