BRIAN MARCHAND Obituary

BRIAN PHILIP MARCHAND July 10, 1942 - February 3, 2026
Brian Philip Marchand, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving daughter Rhonda, her husband Jonathan, and his cherished granddaughters Brooklynn, Valkyrie, and Gwendolyn.

Brian is survived by his daughters Rhonda Marchand (Watts) and family, Cheryl Marchand (Ellis) and family, and Leanne Marchand. He was predeceased by his father, Phillip Marchand (1946); his mother, Mary Panas (Marsh) (1996); and his stepfather, Edward Marsh (2015).

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Brian relocated to Thunder Bay at a young age. He spent his youth delivering groceries and newspapers in the John St. area. Brian worked briefly at the Marathon paper mill before a long career at the Thunder Bay paper mill, retiring as Head Electrician in the mid-1990s.

A lifelong Tradesman and builder, Brian had a passion for snowmobiles and classic cars, culminating in his cherished 1928 Pontiac Chief of the Sixes street rod. In his later years, he especially treasured time with his grandchildren.

Papa will be deeply missed.
A Hot Rod Tribute cruise and private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

My deepest condolences, Bryan was a wonderful person and a dear friend. He was a kind person with a strong work ethic and never spoke ill about anybody.

I am very saddened to hear of his passing. I will always remember the great times we had terrorizing Lake Superior on our snowmobiles and the nine years we spent building our classic cars.

Brian and I were friends for over forty years, we worked on many projects together and had a many adventures along the way. Rest in peace buddy.
