It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Joseph Richards, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday December 24, 2018, at the age of 66. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 19, 1952 to Percy and Alice Richards. He was raised and went to school in Fort Churchill and Winnipeg. He married Esther on June 28, 1975 and they started to build a life and family together. In June of 1978 they moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario for Brian to begin a career at Gibson Motors. After many years working in the automotive industry, Brian retired from Dominion Motors to spend more time at his home at Eva Lake and travel to his home in Phoenix, Arizona to enjoy the desert weather while riding his Harley Davidson. Brian was a funny, witty, generous, and loving family man who enjoyed his Chihuahua girls, spending time outdoors, fishing, laughing around the campfire, and spending time with family and friends. He loved to sit on the deck enjoying coffee, interacting and watching nature with Esther. You could always depend on Dad for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need, friend or stranger. Brian will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Esther; daughters Andrea, Adrienne, and Heather (Greg); grandsons R.J., Chris, and Aiden; siblings Patricia, Francine (Paul), Cathy (Bob), and Michael (Janina); his animal pack Lupe, Tia, and Xander; along with numerous other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Alice; aunt Jo, uncle Tom; brother-in-law Art. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with no service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, the family is requesting donations for St Joseph's Hospice Unit Thunder Bay, in lieu of flowers.

What a true honour to have worked with Brian over the years. I was also lucky enough to have travel, hunted and spend time with him away from the office. They just don't come any better than Brian! I'm so sad for your loss.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
