BRIAN SCOLLIE Obituary

1937 ~ 2024
Brian Lewis Scollie was born March 10, 1937 in Fort William, Ontario. He was the son of William George Scollie and Ann Barbara Sitch and older brother to William Bryce Scollie. He married Kari Hestdalen and had two children. Lise and Kirsten Scollie. He loved carpentry - and was a talented woodworker. His first career was teaching and his last career was teaching - he had few other gigs in between. Brian was proud to have worked in an Italian fine furniture shop in Toronto for a few years. But he really loved teaching and returned to it. And he was good at it. He taught a few subjects such as, English, and Art, but his real love was teaching woodworking and carpentry - his true craft. He loved a good road trip. His favorite was the one he took with his elderly mother, Ann Scollie, to Alaska. He always believed in and took the road less travelled. He was always curious and enjoyed the art of discovery. Other things he loved: CBC radio, the Vinyl Café in particular; music, jazz in particular; and art, group of 7 in particular.

He passed on November 2, 2024 (87). He was fun and he will be missed. A memorial service to be announced.
