BRUNO ARCON Obituary

BRUNO ARCON 1953 ~ 2026
On January 10, 2026, Bruno Arcon passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Bruno was born on May 14, 1953, in the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a child, his favorite activities were playing soccer and taming pigeons. Bruno moved to Canada in 1969 to reunite with his father and older sister in Thunder Bay. He lived a fun and lively life, always maintaining a great sense of humour. He could often be seen playing on soccer teams in his free time, winning many trophies along the way. He loved soccer throughout his life, watching tournaments and games whenever he could.

His favorite hobbies included gardening, fishing, and going to the casino with family. He was a religious man who prayed to God with gratitude and for well-being. Bruno built countless houses in the community and refurbished many more. He was a proud member of the carpenters' union and inspired generations of fellow carpenters. When times were difficult, his strong persistence and inner strength carried him forward.

Bruno loved his family and loved ones above all else, along with his pets, Goku the cat and Lucy the dog. He raised many children and formed lifelong memories with everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

He is survived by his sister Gina (Gordana), sons Adam and Rico, his nephew Taylor, his niece Chelsee and her children. Bruno was predeceased by his father, Rudolf; mother, Borka; brother, Rudy; baba Jelena; baba Mila; nephew Pino; brother-in-law Vince; and several uncles and aunts.

A warm thank you to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Hospital for taking care of him, along with the doctors and nurses who helped him throughout his life. A special thank you to nurse Lucus for the excellent care of my brother and my dad.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, in the R. Leino Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided over by Rev. Ciaran Donnelly. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation.

Arcon family I met Bruno many years ago in 80's and remained friends from them. I remember his carpentry skills and another friend bought his first house from him . I also know he was a good man and a good friend when we saw each other . God rest Bruno .

I knew Bruno in the 70's as a fellow carpenter and thought of him as a mans man. Good carpenter and hard worker.

My dearest husband, soul mate and friend. We had 30 years as husband and wife. Although we didn´t live together we were still together I understand that you only wanted me to have a good life. No one will ever take that away from as.

I promise you that you will get a good send off as you deserve. I will wait for our son to come back home from Washington. You will have the best party ever.

An accurate obituary will be forthcoming.

To my stepchildren and grandchildren - Bruno (Dada) loved you very much.
Forever and always Wifey
