I am very sorry to hear that Bryan has passed away. During my years working at The Times-News/Chronicle-Journal we often had a chance to talk on the phone, and sometimes in person. He loved the Northwest and his writing showed it. He will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues and others who knew him. May they have good memories.

Condolences to Bryan's family and friends. Bryan and I talked at least annually through our careers, mine in natural resource management and his in reporting. His love of all things outdoors often promoted a call regarding rumours about things inside the MNR; sometimes leading to a story; sometimes not. Later, my involvement in Ontario's Bear Wise program ensured frequent contact with Bryan. His genuine interest in reporting the facts, made talking about the "issues" with him something I looked forward too. RIP Bryan. Linda Wall (Former Co-ordinator, Ontario's Bear Wise Program)

Condolences to the Meadows family. Bryan was a pleasure to work with and to chat with about so many topics that were not work-related. A good guy gone too soon.

My condolences to the Meadows family back in Dryden. I worked with Bryan at both the Observer and Times-News/Chronicle-Journal. I remember laughing a lot when in his presence.

Sincere condolences to Bryan's family and friends. I was his roommate in Tache Hall in first year at the U of Manitoba. He often talked about fishing and hunting and our beautiful northern lakes and rivers. We finally touched base by email and voicemail late last year but not face to face. A great guy. Rest in peace, "Moose".

Bryan and I only met face-to-face once, over lunch in Thunder Bay. But we often talked on the phone and exchanged emails for more than 20 years. I liked Bryan because he told it like it is, and could always make me laugh.
Sorry for your loss.

Bryan has been such a valued member of our staff at The Chronicle-Journal. A prodigious story-teller, a genuine sportsman and a wonderfully funny guy he will be sorely missed.
