Mr. Bryon James McMillan passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at Hogarth Riverview Manor. Born on April 11, 1927 in Morden, Manitoba to Thomas and Margaret McMillan. He grew up on the family farm in Mather, Manitoba before following some of his older brothers to Fort William, Ontario. Bryon worked at Wilson Motors, McMillan's Tire Centre (owned by brother Alvin), and for twenty-five years at Eaton's, retiring in 1988. While at Wilson Motors, he met the love of his life, a cute bookkeeper named Olga Chesniak. Bryon and Olga were married for sixty-two years before her passing in 2014. Their early life together centred around their growing family. Many memories were made at their camp on Shebandowan Lake. Bryon and Olga enjoyed years of friendship and activities at their winter home in Bradenton, Florida. Bryon was a proud member of the Khartum Shriners and the Connaught Lodge, A.F. & A.M. No. 511. He was an avid curler, continuing on in the Take-It Easy Curling League until into his late 80s.
Bryon will be lovingly remembered by his sons Garry (Laurie), Doug (Harriet) and Kevin (Genevie), grandchildren Shannon, Sean, Travis (Crystal), Kelly (Chad), Cody and Jenna, and great grandson, Logan, brothers-in-law John Chesniak and Mike (Mavis) Chesniak, and sisters-in-law Audrey McMillan, Shirley McMillan and Mary Gini, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga, parents Thomas and Margaret McMillan, brothers Fred (Elva), Alvin (Dorothy, Elizabeth), Daniel, Norman (Emily), twin brother Dennis, parents-in-law Ksenty and Eva Chesniak, as well as in-laws and other relatives.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no service at this time. One will take place when family and friends can gather again safely. In memory of Bryon, the family respectfully requests donations to the Lakehead Shrine Club, 549 10th Avenue, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 2R3, or First-Wesley United Church, 130 Brodie Street North, Thunder Bay, ON P7C 3S3.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful staff at Sister Leila Greco Apartments and Hogarth Riverview Manor for their supportive and compassionate care of Bryon while he was a resident.

A wonderful Uncle always with a smile on his face. We have many memories of Uncle Bryon and times spent at the camp in earlier years.
