Burt Douglas Obituary

January 6, 1929 -
December 22, 2017
With profound sadness, we announce that Burt has slipped his earthly bonds to play the Great Eternal Links; golf having always been his passion. He leaves behind his wife Fran, daughter Roberta - Lynne (Eugene Vandal), granddaughter Kym (Chris Duchnicky) and their daughter Willow, grandsons Bryon and Jay (his daughter Jazleen, and three year old Hayden). Burt was absolutely thrilled to be able to enjoy his great granddaughters. He is also survived by several cousins, and his brother-in-law Don Borsk and family; everyone dear to his heart. Burt was predeceased by his two sons, Larry and Little Stevie, his parents Jack and Clare Douglas of Sioux Lookout, his in-laws Steve and Katherine Borsk, and his first wife Margaret. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Should anyone wish to make a donation in remembrance, please consider the animals in The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society, 1535 Rosslyn Road, P7E 6W2. Burt always had a soft spot in his heart for any animal. A donation to the charity of your choice would equally be appreciated. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, January 5th, 2018 from 2:00pm - 4:30pm at the Slovak Legion, Atlantic Avenue.

So sorry to hear about Burt's passing. I worked with Burt many years ago at Ontario Hydro when I was still in Thunder Bay and he was at Lakehead TS. My condolences to the family.
