CARL TAYLOR Obituary

CARL TAYLOR
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carl Taylor, age 79, on February 12, 2026, at TBRHSC, with his family by his side.

Carl grew up in Port Arthur and began working at Abitibi at the young age of 16. At 18, he moved to the Provincial Papers mill, where he dedicated 40 years of hard work and commitment. He retired as the #6 Paper Machine and Off-Machine Coater Superintendent, taking great pride in his career and the many friendships formed along the way.

In 1966, Carl married the love of his life, Jenny Prenger. Together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage built on love, devotion, and family.

In his early years, Carl enjoyed hockey and curling and devoted countless hours to coaching his children in ringette and softball. As his children grew older, he became an avid golfer and treasured his regular coffee gatherings at Robin's with "the crew." After retirement, Carl was known to say, "Leave the weekends and evenings on the golf course for those working people," a reflection of his thoughtful and considerate nature.

Carl will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Jenny; his daughters Kasey Etreni (Alf), Jodi Taylor (Dave), and Tania Bouchard (Jay); and his son Carl Taylor (Christine). His grandchildren were the light of his life: Kayla (Jeff) and Brooklyn (Zavier) Etreni, Lily and Finn Taylor, and Bryn Bouchard. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and sisters-in-law Rita Perrier and Marge (Jim) Hurdon.

Carl was predeceased by his brother Edwin; his parents, Claire and Edwin Taylor; his parents-in-law Jenny and Herman Prenger; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.

In accordance with Carl's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral service. To honour his life, the family invites you to share a quiet moment of peaceful reflection. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's memory may be made to the Cancer Clinic or the Cardiovascular Unit at TBRHSC.
