Carlo Visintin Obituary

May 26, 1933 –
January 3, 2021

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Carlo Visintin on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the age of 87.

Born in Motta di Livenza, Italy on May 26, 1933 he was the youngest of 9 children. In 1957, he embarked on his ocean journey to find new opportunities in Canada. After settling in Fort William, he called for his love Silvana to join him in Canada and they began their life's journey together, being married on December 26, 1962.

Carlo loved to sing and was an active member of St. Dominic Church choir for many years. He had a light hearted demeanor with an infectious laughter that brought a smile to those around him. His perfectly timed “Beauty!” was his signature saying.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Silvana, children Dennis (Tina) and Susy (John), grandchildren Maria, David, Andrew (Jill) and Krista (Josh), and great grandchildren, Trayvin and Emma. Carlo will be greatly missed by Albert, Lorna, Jay (Tineke) and Carlye along with many lifelong friends.

The family offers gratitude to Dr. Storkson and Dr. Lai for their care of Dad over the years, and to the first responders and hospital staff for their compassionate care.

Due to the current gathering restrictions, a private funeral service for the late Mr. Carlo Visintin will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Your thoughts and prayers for Silvana and family are greatly appreciated. A video recording of the service will be available on the funeral home website beginning on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Northern Cardiac Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences to Silvana and family
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. He was a good friend of our father and had a smile on his face when he met people whenever he went. No more pain or suffering.
