(GEDDES)
Carol Janet Williams (Geddes), 76, of Nipigon, Ontario, passed away Feb. 16/26, surrounded by her loud (but loving) family, at Nipigon Memorial Hospital following a prolonged illness. Carol was born on August 17, 1949, in Port Arthur, Ontario, to Freeburn and Agnes Geddes (Pollard). She was raised in the Port Arthur area and attended Vance Chapman Elementary School and Lakeview High School. Throughout her life, Carol shared her many talents in the community, working as a hairdresser, waitress, and short order cook, contributing her skills to numerous local restaurants. She met the love of her life, Grant Williams, at the Fall Fishing Festival Dance, and together they built a life rooted in family and community. Carol had a deep love for cooking and baking, always happiest when preparing meals and treats for those she loved. She loved spending time out at camp on the pontoon boat with her closest friend Lady Di. She was a proud and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branch 32 (Nipigon) for over 40 years, holding numerous executive positions and serving 12 terms as president. Her commitment, leadership, and tireless volunteerism left a lasting mark on the Legion community. She was predeceased by her birth mother, Agnes and her father Freeburn Geddes; her brother, John (Butch) Geddes; her mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and Ross Williams. Carol is lovingly remembered by her mother Margaret Geddes, her husband, Grant Williams; her daughters, Tammy and Shelley (Pat); her grandchildren, Mason McCauley (Jenna) and Adam McCauley(Lindsey); her great-granddaughter, Skyla; her sister, Diane Erickson (Ralph); her sisters-in-law, Shirley Jean (Marcel) and Sinikka Geddes; and by her many nieces and nephews, including Graham Erickson (Melanie), Jennifer Burns (Matt), Rodney Geddes, and Ross Jean (Courtney), Terry Jean (Kelsey), as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 28th/26 from 1pm to 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32, Nipigon. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Nipigon Memorial Hospital and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 Nipigon, Nipigon Memorial Hospital, or a
