CECELIA GIELBERT Obituary

CECELIA GIELBERT
It is with great heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and sister, Cecelia Gielbert. Born in Port Arthur, Ontario on August 7, 1953, Cecelia passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 5, 2026, surrounded by her family after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Cecelia will be remembered as a woman of warmth, generosity, and quiet strength. She found joy in traveling, helping others whenever she could, and above all, in her deep devotion to her family.

She worked for over 56 years, with over 40 years of that with CIBC until her retirement in 2021, where her dedication and compassion were felt by colleagues and clients alike.

Her kindness touched many lives, and her steady presence was a source of comfort and guidance to those who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Andy Gielbert; her sons, Christopher Gielbert (Kirsten) and Michael Gielbert; her sister, Irena Elms (Lanny); her sister-in-law, Ewa Kosmala (Sylwek); and her mother-in-law, Jadwiga Gielbert. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Agnieska Kosmala, Lonny Elms (Jennifer), Karrie Elms (Ron), and Brandon Elms (Kristen). Cecelia also leaves behind an extensive family in Poland who mourn her loss and cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her parents, Micha? and Zofia Pieron, and her father-in-law, Jan Gielbert. She will also be dearly missed by her little shadow, Zeus.

Our family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Thunder Bay Regional for their incredible care and compassion in Cecelia's final hours. We would also like to thank Rev. Larry for performing her Last Rites. As well as a heartfelt thank you to all those who have already reached out to our family with their condolences.

Cecelia's love for her family and her compassion for others will remain her lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cremation has taken place. Services and a celebration of life will be announced at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecelia's name to the Northern Cancer Fund or a charity of your choosing.

I´m so very sorry to close family and friends for your profound loss. I´m one of the many clients who Cecelia served. I will never forget when Cecelia took at call from the casino floor in Vegas. She was that mortgage broker. Always there for her clients even when she was on vacation. There will never be another Cecelia. She was a rare gem.
