Christopher David Muratagic, age 27 years, of Whitecourt, Alberta (formerly of Thunder Bay), passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 9th, 2004 in Whitecourt, Alberta.Chris was born and raised in Thunder Bay, and after completing High School and Confederation College, worked for Nothern Wood Preservers. He apprenticed at Danier's Transmission and Mister Transmission, and graduated from Trade School in Toronto. His decision to open his own business led him to Whitecourt, Alberta where he owned and operated Whitecourt Transmission, together with his fiancé Daniel Sutton.One of his greatest passions in life was drag racing and together with his dad, built the well known 'Insanity'. He enjoyed camping with his friends and especially spending time with his faithfull dog 'Porky'. Chris was a very generous and giving person who lived his life to the fullest and was always willing to help anyone.He will be sadly missed by his parents Hank and Bev; brother Michael; fiancé Danielle Sutton; grandfather Joseph Zeleny; uncles: Richard (Anna) Zeleny, David (Arleen) Zeleny; aunt Fadila Muratagic; cousins: Lisa, Lael, Joel and Arla Zeleny, Emcija Muratagic, and Sakiba (Samir) Delic. Also fondly missed by 'Aunt' Stella Tarbet. He was predeceased by grandparents: Rose Zeleny and Sulejman and Gospe Muratagic and uncle Sakib Muratagic.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Fr. Michael Murray, with interment to follow in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for Family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Christopher's memory to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to the
Lung Association, Thunder Bay Region."
