CLARICE WIDEMAN Obituary

October 6th, 1941 - December 24th, 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Clarice May Wideman (née Robbins) announce her unexpected passing on December 24th, 2025.

Clarice was born in Port Arthur and raised in Blake Township. She met the love of her life, Marvin, at a dance, and they married on November 5th, 1960, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage. They began their life in the "Little House" on Murphy Avenue before moving to their home in Rosslyn, where they lived for 63 years and raised their four children: Shawn, Dale, Scott, and Crystal.

Clarice was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She kept a large vegetable garden and spent countless hours canning, freezing, making jams, baking, and cooking. She also raised roosters, some of whom liked to chase her while she fed them, much to everyone's amusement.

Her life truly revolved around her family. Summer weekends were spent at camp on Cloud Lake, where she enjoyed watching her children have fun and spending time with her dad, who lived one camp down. She also loved going for ice cream sundaes and country drives with Marvin and frequently had friends over at the house or met them for coffee.

She cherished every moment as a grandmother and great grandmother. She joyfully made chocolate chip cookies to keep up with their endless requests and spent time teaching them math, card games, knitting, and baking. Most of all, she treasured the time spent together, even while making them watch Y&R with her. She always put others first, ensuring everyone around her was happy and never complaining or expecting anything in return. She had a love for giving hugs and made sure no one left her home without one, as it was her way of showing love to all who knew her.

Clarice is survived by her loving husband Marvin; her children Shawn (Cheryl), Dale (Mary), Scott (Tracey), and Crystal (Leonard); her 10 grandchildren, Shannon, Amanda (Jeff), Shawn Jr, (Alexa), Ryan, Justin (Carina), Robyn (Ryan), Troy (Jasmine), Shelby (Jerry), Devon (Taylor), and Kerri (Lyndon); and her 11 great-grandchildren.

Clarice is predeceased by her parents, Delbert and Julia Robbins; brother James Robbins; sister and brother-in-law Alma and Bill Kempe; sister-in-law Beatrice Wideman; nephews Dean Wideman and Bernie Goliboski Jr; and mother and father-in-law Hilda and Arthur Wideman.

Clarice is survived by her brothers Alan Robbins and Lloyd Robbins; her sisters Gale Bloye and Irene (Bernie) Goliboski; brother-in-law Raynold Wideman; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the NorWester Hotel and Conference Centre on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

So very sorry for your loss!!It is with extreme sadness to read of Clarius’s passing! Our family (Rea’s) visited with them over the years and also it was Clarius’s mom Julia that brought me into the world on April8th, 1947 during a big snow storm in Blake Township. We were always treated so kind by family as kids. Your wife and mom was a very kind soft spoken lady and enjoyed seeing her and your dad at Santorini’s for a catch up and visit!

We offer our condolences to Marvin and all their family! Marvin and Clarice always put on the coffee pot and a plate of homemade cookies, making our visits enjoyable and welcoming! So blessed to have Marvin and Clarice in our circle of friends!
