COLIN PARENT

Colin Parent, age 52, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on November 15, 2025. Born in Thunder Bay on December 23, 1972, Colin was a devoted big brother, a cherished son, and a wonderful friend. He spent much of his childhood in Kapuskasing and Kirkland Lake before moving permanently to Thunder Bay where he graduated from Hammarskjold High School and Lakehead University.

Colin taught at Lakehead Public Schools and was admired for his dedication and hard work. He especially enjoyed teaching in Armstrong where he made many new friends. He loved photographing the bears he encountered along the Armstrong Highway.

Colin was passionate about discussing political issues and supported local candidates in both provincial and federal elections. He loved spending time at the family camp on Whitefish Lake and spent many weekends fishing and bird hunting. He also enjoyed kickboxing and riding his motorcycle during the summer. Colin shared his warm smile and boisterous laugh with friends at music concerts on the waterfront as well as in Minneapolis, Winnipeg, and Calgary.

Colin is survived by his mother, Bernice, his brother, Michel, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, Réal Parent; grandparents Mildred and Kaarlo Hermanson and Benoît and Fabiola Parent; uncle John Hermanson; and cousins Graham and Devon.

A memorial gathering will be held in Colin's honour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, in the Arbor Lounge of Harbourview Funeral Centre where words of tribute will begin at 7:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in Colin's memory may be made to the Charity of Your Choice.
