Cornell Sullivan "Con" McGuire

1955 - 2022

It is with an overwhelming sadness and broken hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Cornell McGuire (Con) at the age of 67 years when his battle with Cancer came to an end. 

Con was born on March 20th, 1955 and tragically taken away from us on December 10th, 2022. In his life he worked various jobs but the most rewarding job was that of taking care of his family.  

Con was a very kind, loving and caring person who would literally give you the shirt of his back and never ask for anything in return. He loved singing around the house to his family, he was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan as well as going to bingo with friends.  

Con is predeceased by his Parents Eileen & Cornelius McGuire, Mother-in-law Emmie Wheeler, sister Cathy Quirt and nephews Sean Quirt and Terry Quirt. 

Con is survived by the love of his life, his wife Eleanor McGuire, his beautiful children Cornell, Patrick, Nathaniel and Cassandra and his furbaby granddaughter, Emmy. His brother David (Judy) Sisters Patricia (Tim), Debbie (Lee), Colleen (Peter), Cheryl (Bruce), Joy (Bruce) and his baby sister Judy, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the TBRHSC for their expert care of Con. 

Respecting Cons wishes cremation has taken place.  

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2022 1-4 p.m. at the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
