Mr. Cory Dennis Allen Black, age 26 years, passed away at his Norah Street home in Thunder Bay on December 29, 2010. Cory had worked construction both in Thunder Bay and out West‚ Cory enjoyed cooking, reading and writing short stories‚ He was a self taught and accomplished guitar player. Cory also won several medals in track and field. He enjoyed playing hockey, skateboarding and swimming. Cory is lovingly remembered and missed by his parents Suzanne DeRusha (Ron), and Rodney Black (Judy); partner and friend Corrie Murray and their children Jayden and Alyssa Black; grandparents Rose and Dennis DeRusha (Linda); uncles Jay (Cindi) and Al (Margaret) DeRusha; aunty Nancy (Frank); niece Bobbie and nephew Bill DeRusha, along with many other relatives, numerous friends as well as his pets Skitch and Mika. Cory was predeceased by great grandparents Bill and Agnes Roy, Cyril and Lulla DeRusha, grandparents Iris and Norman Black and aunts Carol and Pam Black. Following cremation, Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Lloyd Ivany‚ As expressions of sympathy, donations in Cory's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
