CURTIS SELAGI Obituary

CURTIS SELAGI April 2, 1957 - July 20, 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Curtis Selagi announce his passing on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Born on April 2, 1957, in Flin Flon, Manitoba. His working career was spent in the wood and paper industry, where he was known for his dedication.

Curtis was a man of many interests. His love for music was profound, and he was recognized as a "top of the line" guitar player. An avid fisherman, Curtis found pleasure in the tranquility of nature. He cherished the moments spent by the water with rod in hand. However, it was the time spent with his family that he valued above all else.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice; and five children, Kris and Josh Selagi; Kristy; Chelsea Boyce; and Braelyn Selagi; along with grandson, Cayden McCallen who brought him immeasurable happiness.

Curtis's legacy is one of kindness, integrity, and the simple joys of life. His memory will be held dear in the hearts of those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Current River Community Centre 450 Dewe Ave, Thunder Bay.

Curtis was just a great person to have around. Our years back in the Black Bay neighborhood were always fun with Curtis always up for an adventure. When I think back to those days Curtis was the tempest in the tea pot . Great fun all the time , bold with caution , but not to much caution.
My condolences to his family , Curtis made a difference. - Ian McIver

I have known Curtis since 7th grade, and we continued as friends as teenagers, and then worked together at Provincial. He moved to BC and I to Toronto and we would stay in touch only through friends, but by chance we were able to meet and visit numerous times back in 2020. He never changed; he was a kind and gentle man and a good friend. He was a supremely talented musician, and music was his life - except for his family. He was a dedicated husband and a proud father. I will miss him immensely.

Deeply saddened to hear of Curt's passing. We worked together at Pro Papers and by chance, we were also workmates driving taxi. Always a pleasant human to work with and have around. RIP Curtis.
