CYNDY CALDER Obituary

CYNDY (HOSEGOOD) CALDER July 9, 1973 to November 11, 2025
We are sad to announce the unexpected passing of our mom, sister, aunt and friend to all. Cyndy is survived by her two sons, partner, brother and loving family. She was predeceased by her parents and the father of her children. Cyndy made many friends and lasting memories throughout the years whether it was socially or through work. In her earlier years Cyndy could be found working her shifts at 7-Eleven and then moved to Gateway Casino for the remainder of her career. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 6 to 9pm at the Slovak Legion. In lieu of flowers or donations a bank account has been set up to assist the boys; and if desired donations can be sent to [email protected]. Our family would like to thank the Transplant Team in Ottawa as well as all our friends and family for so much support during this difficult time.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Yesterday

Cyndy was my esteemed coworker and supervisor for 17 yrs at Gateway Casino. She was larger than life with a heart to match and boundless humour and energy. She had a presence about her and energized a room. She was smart sexy and a very compassionate and caring person. She was the Queen Bee in a hive of drone's. Cyndy was thoughtful and respectful yet she had a way of laying things out to you if you needed it. I respected and admired her for her character her strength and her integrity. It was always a good shift whenever Cyndy was in the building. She was one of the most unforgettable women i´ve ever known. Just being around her made you feel relaxed and confident. The way she handled her every circumstance was admirable and inspiring. I was so hopeful for her to overcome this adversity too. I know she is somewhere lighting up a room and lifting spirits. God bless and keep you always Cyndy. lots of love Daniel

I am so sorry to hear of my good friend Cyndy´s passing. I had the privilege to work with Cyndy at the Casino and we had many conversations about life? Work , our boys and she always had that smile on her face and always had the best funniest conversations about everything and nothing. Cyndy was brty cool and had the biggest heart. I am so saddened for her boys and family. I loved everything about her. My heart goes out to everyone who had the pleasure to know her. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to her young boys and her family.

Thank you Patti

Cyndy was a childhood friend, we went to public school & high school together. I have many memories of our crazy teenage years running the streets of Westfort, hanging out at Vickers park, running the halls of St. Elizabeth school and causing havoc. Although we drifted apart as we grew older whenever i saw her she would greet me with the biggest of smiles and bear hugs. Cyndy will alway be in my heart, she was a true Westfort legend. My sincere condolences to her boys, her brother Jamie, family & friends. A beautiful soul gone to soon. May she RIP.

I´ve known Cyndy for many years through our boys playing football and through shared friends.
She was an amazing woman, mother and friend. Always full of so much life, love and laughter. She will be missed more than words can express.

I knew Cindy from our time working together at Gateway Casinos. Even though I was there only for a short period before moving from Thunder Bay, she made a lasting impression on me. It was always a pleasure seeing her at work, and I truly miss the good days of talking with her.

Cindy will always be remembered with respect and warmth. My heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace.
