Daisy Axelson Obituary

March 17, 1915 - April 11, 2003Daisy passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home, her residence for the past 2 1/2 years. She was surrounded by the love of those who were with her and those who were there in spirit. As we celebrate the life of our Mom and our friend, we will remember a beautiful lady who deeply loved our Dad, Wilfred Axelson. Mom and Dad are together again. Daisy is survived by her children; Terry Axelson (Judy), Thorine Goodall, Judith Allen (Norm). Mom was a multi-talented person who developed these talents over many years volunteering with the Salvation Army during the war, as a Cub Leader; a very active member of Knox United Church. She worked alongside Wilf and special friends building a road to Hawkeye Lake and developing a cottage there. We, her children and grandchildren, Kristan Miclash (Randy), Dale Axelson (Elisabeth), Lorne Goodall (Debbie), Sophia Kelly, Alan Goodall, Erik Allen, Curt Allen, Jake Allen have many special memories of our times together at the yellow camp on the point at Hawkeye Lake. Their legacy remains forever in the naming of Axelson Road. Daisy was active for many years with the Mount Baldy Ski Area and together with Wilf they operated The Mount Baldy Ski Shop starting with their home on Shuniah Street and ending at Grenville Avenue where together they owned and operated Axelson's Plumbing and Heating until retirement. Daisy made many friends through her interests in painting, golfing, playing bridge, travel and just socializing. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; Kyle Miclash, twins Sofia and Linnea Axelson, Liam, Aidan, and Garrett Goodall and Sophie Allen; her sister Bessie Symington, and numerous nieces and nephews.Daisy was predeceased by her daughter Doreen, husband Wilf, her twin brother Jimmie and her sisters Nellie, Lily, Lucy and Violet. Thank You From The Heart. Make new friends but keep the old. Phyllis Chase is silver and Fran Turner is gold. Thanks for being there for all the ups and downs.Thank you to the third floor staff of Bethammi Nursing Home for your kind loving care of Mom and to the nursing staff on 6 East at the Port Arthur General Hospital for your care and guidance at a critical time.
