DAN PROKOPCHUK Obituary

DANIEL ANDREW PROKOPCHUK 1953 ~ 2025
Dan Prokopchuk, age 72, passed away peacefully with family by his side in Hospice at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Dan was born on January 11, 1953 in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay), graduating from Hillcrest High School. Throughout his youth and teenage years, he excelled at sports, particularly hockey, playing for numerous local minor hockey organizations as a goaltender. He worked in construction for many years, before becoming a firefighter with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, retiring in 2013.

He is survived by his partner Dolores, son Matt, his five siblings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Many thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for their attentive care and compassion in Dan's final days.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, with internment of the ashes and a private ceremony to take place at a future date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
