Dana Cook Obituary
The family of Dana William Cook is sad to announce his passing on September 27th at the age of 55.
Dana was born and raised in Schreiber Ontario and was the oldest son of Bill and Anita Cook. In 1990 Dana married the love of his life, Glenda Glad and during their 25 years of marriage they raised two beautiful daughters, Tana and Angela.
In his youth Dana enjoyed playing hockey, working on muscle cars with his brother Brad in their parents' driveway. He had a passion for music and drums from a young age and formed several local bands with his good friends including Shift V, Black E's Machine, and Jimmie's Remains. He was notorious for inviting bands from the Mayfair home for dinner. Dana helped to build the family camp at Jackfish and loved bonfires and boating on Lake Superior.
Dana started working for Kimberly Clark in the late 70's as a heavy equipment operator in the woodroom and especially loved driving the Tugboat. He later entered the junior trades program as an electrician and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in his trade. He was a loyal member of his local IBEW and enjoyed working with his fellow electricians.
Dana spent many hours volunteering his skills as an electrician for the Superior Classics Car Club and worked on power distribution for the annual Terrace Bay Dragfest. He was a member of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron for a number of years.
Dana leaves behind his wife Glenda, his daughters Tana and Angela, Mother Anita, sisters Marylyn and Debbie (Mike), brother Brad (Joyce), and in-laws Terry (Mylene), Danny, Pam (Rodney), Joyce (Brad), Timmy, Jackie (Steve), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dana was predeceased by his father (Bill) William Cook, mother and father in-law Tim and Sheila Glad, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a visitation Wednesday September 30th at the King Funeral Home at 7pm and a memorial mass at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber on Thursday October 1st at 11am.
Donations may be made to the Tamarack House or a charity of your choosing in his memory.

I was very saddened to hear of Dana's passing. Although I haven't been in contact with Dana for many years, I considered both he and Brad good friends in high school and have fond memories of hanging out with them and having a lot of laughs - particularly watching the Maronese brothers swap engines in the "El Cabondo" and when he had the Joey Ramone hair and glasses and we got his band (with Jeff Fortier and John Dye at the time if I remember correctly)a gig at Confederation College in Thunder Bay (I still have the drum sticks he gave me). My deepest condolences to Glenda and family, Brad and the rest of the Cook and Glad families at this difficult time.
