DANIEL PAUL BALYK JR
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Paul Balyk JR, at the age of 60, on October 3rd, 2025 after a courageous and lengthy battle with Cancer. Danny passed away peacefully at St Joe's Hospice - just hours after arriving. Born April 29th, 1965 to Dan and Lucy Balyk in Fort William (Thunder Bay). Dan Jr was the oldest child of Dan and Lucy.
Dan Balyk Jr from a very young age had the kindest heart, soft demeanour and was a great listener. Growing up he enjoyed spending time in the garage with his best friend Bruce Watts. Danny Enjoyed camping, and fishing especially with his little sister Lori. Dan had a love for working on cars and just recently showed his little sister how to fix and splice wires after a mouse made a homestead under the hood. Dan Jr was part of the Thunder Bay Auto Club where he enjoyed Autocross racing. He loved his older cars including his Riviera and loved taking out his BMW Z3 Roadster with the top down. Danny enjoyed his many years of just hanging out with his brother and best friend Rob, talking for hours about anything and everything under the sun. Dan started his working career at a young age at McDonald's and started working at Great Lakes Forest Products (now Thunder Bay Pulp and Paper), right out of high school until he retired at the age of 55 in 2020.
