Daniel MacLean Obituary

DANIEL MacLEAN
Daniel Patrick MacLean passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born in Port Arthur on St. Patrick's Day-March 17th, 1972 to George and Barbara MacLean. Daniel spent his younger years in Thunder Bay and moved with his family to Pickering, Ontario in the mid 80's. He returned to his hometown and began his lifetime career as a long-haul driver. "Delirious", as he was affectionately known as on the roads, excelled in his profession and received many accolades for his great ability to handle his rig and the roads. Daniel enjoyed going on long car adventures, watching hockey and cheering on his favourite NHL team, The Boston Bruins. He was a true sports fanatic from golfing to NASCAR to skiing. He also had a love for cooking. Daniel will be forever remembered for his kind heart, sense of humour, fearlessness and compassion for all animals. Daniel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his greatest joys, his sons Matthew (Nadine) and Daniel Mitchell (Rosemarie). Along with his granddaughters Zoey and Ella. Daniel will be truly missed by his sister, Monique (John); his nieces, Courtney (Tim), Alyssa, and Cassie (Aiden); and his brother, Mike (Cody, Amanda, and Tristan). He will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Charlene Vaudrin, her daughter, Mackenzie, and his beloved fur babies, Leia and Sandy. Daniel will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, many cousins, and the many friends he made along the way. He was predeceased by his parents, George (2019) and Barb (2016). He was loved by many and will be missed by all. The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU and the 2B Medical Unit at T.B.R.H.S.C. for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Daniel throughout his time there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society in memory of Daniel and his love for animals. The Celebration of Life is going to be held on March 17th, 2026 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at The Oliver Road Recreation Centre for all family and friends.
