DANIEL MONTGOMERY Obituary

Daniel Michael Montgomery passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2024 with his family by his side. Daniel was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Daniel was born on November 4, 1962 in Fort William, Ontario.

Daniel is predeceased by his father Karl Montgomery, mother Judy St. Cyr, brother Randy and uncle Gary. He will be greatly missed by his wife Tamara; children Christopher (Kenda), Jason, Danielle, Samantha (Jake), Nicole (Jason); siblings David (Chealsey) and Scott; and grandchildren Autumn, Keenan, Kingston, Jaxson, Oaklyn, Juliette and two on the way. He spent much of his childhood in Atikokan, ON with his grandparents.

Everyone who knew him, called him Monkey Man or Dan. Dan's pride and joy was his family. Dan would take the shirt off his back to give it to anyone, whether he knew them or not. Dan had many animals over the years that were very special to him including his dogs Rosco, Lola, Tanner, and his cat Luck Luck. Dan loved to spend his time camping over the years with his family especially at Whitefish, Arrow, Windigoostigwan Lake and Quetico. He spent most of his time escaping from reality at his camp in Nolalu doing various activities such as snowmobiling, quadding and fishing. He was very adventurous and loved to travel. One of his most memorable moments was in 2014 when he married the love of his life in Jamaica with his friends and family by his side.

Dan's true passion was fixing and restoring anything, especially cars. He was so proud of his cars he had over the years including his black Nova, red Camaro, red Chevelle SS and his newest addition his Ford Godzilla. His fascination with cars was legendary and he always had a need for speed. Dan was a jack of all trades, when something went wrong, we could always call him. He was so proud of his children for everything they had accomplished and always reminded them every chance he could.

Throughout his life he was dealt difficult cards. With perseverance he always was able to pull through and come out on top. No matter what happened, Dan always saw the good in everyone and always had their best interest at heart. Dan was very empathetic in nature and had the most contagious laugh. Whether it was him teaching his grandchildren life skills, chatting, or playing with them, he was always sharing his knowledge and expertise.

Dan suffered from many chronic illnesses over the years and is now at peace. His impact on those around him will forever be etched in our hearts. He didn't wear a cape but was a hero to everyone who knew him. We will never be the same without you daddy.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at the Westfort Chapel on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toronto General Hospital Peter Munk Cardiac Centre.

A man. A life filled with all sunshine around
His beautiful protector Tamara
And family conceived
A struggle as life took thee
A Angel now. Forever
