DANIEL WING Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Alan Wing announce his peaceful passing on Monday, September 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 44 years, Janet; children, Eric (Brittany), Bailey (Dan); and grandson, Brody.
Born May 13, 1959 in Fort William, ON. Dan got his start out of high school at various jobs, then moved West to Alberta and found employment in a custom paint and body shop. He enjoyed Restoration and keeping things in great condition. He then made his way back to Thunder Bay and began an independent body shop. In the mid 80's he started working in the petroleum industry where he met many lifelong friends and colleagues over his 35+ year career.
Dan was a devoted and loving husband and father. His wife and children were his number one priority. His favourite place was out at camp, his "paradise on earth" at Shebandowan Lake. Especially when there was fishing, hunting, or snowmobiling on the agenda. Most weekends and holidays, Dan could be found spending time with his "Camp Family".
He was always up for a game of cards or a game night. He had a love for music and creating playlists which were perfectly put together. He enjoyed painting and had many original works of art hanging in the homes of his loved ones.
His grandson, Brody (2), was the spark that kept him going. He loved being a Papa so much and they shared a special bond. It is heartbreaking that their time together was cut so short. We promise not to let Brody forget his Papa.
Dan is also survived by brothers, Leslie (Michelle), James (Catherine), and Ronald; in-laws from the Antti and O'Neil families; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Addie Wing; in-laws, Bror and Zan Antti; and brother-in-law, Dennis O'Neil.
As per Dan's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Should friends so desire, donations to a Charity of Your Choice would be greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank the Cancer Clinic for their exceptional care and the many nurses, home-care staff, and doctors who were by his side. Thank you to the St. Joe's Hospice team for their care and compassion in his final days.

Our condolences to the entire Wing family. Dan did a superior job raising two excellent children who I am so fortunate to call my friends. My husband and I were lucky enough to come spend some time at Dan and Janet´s "paradise on earth" with the camp family, enjoy their hospitality and make some of our own lasting memories. <3 Thank you Dan for everything you created, shared, and the legacy you have left behind.
