DARLENE WILIMINA KOSOLOWSKI "DAR"
Darlene passed away Friday, December 26th at the Waterview Shores Skilled Nursing Home. With family by her side she slipped away to meet the others. Darlene was born May 27,1936 to Wilma Wills & Schubert Dankers in Lake City, Minnesota. She spent her early childhood years in the Red Wing area & later moved to Two Harbors with her stepfather & family. Darlene went to & graduated from Two Harbors High School class of 1954 where she met & married Paul (PRT) Richard Turnquist. Darlene & Paul had three children, Robin, Dan & Bill and they spent 20 years together. Dar was a homemaker when the kids were young, as the kids grew so did she. That is when she started her secretarial career. In 1975 Darlene met & married Alexander Kosolowski & moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada where they lived for forty years until the passing of Alex, March 30, 2015. Darlene liked to cook, clean & plan events. She & Alex were good hosts. Darlene retired in 1999 from the Children's Centre in Thunder Bay. Darlene & Alex spent many years as snowbirds in Arizona & later in Florida. In 2010 she met her father, Schubert Dankers (97) alive & living in Naples, Florida. Her first visit was nerve wracking & exciting. Darlene continued to visit him in Florida & eventually moved in with him until his death, January 9, 2019 at the age of 105 years old. Darlene will be fondly remembered by family & all the wonderful friends she made throughout the years. Survived by Sister, Janice (Pape) Parmer Arizona, Daughter Robin (Steve) Detlefsen, Sons Dan & Bill Turnquist. Sisters in Law, Rose Kulp, Evelyn Dromisky, Jacki Jennings & many nieces and nephews. Step Children, Kim Drew, Laura Fleischhacker, Tracy Clark & Terry Kosolowski. Grandchildren: Danielle, Desiree, Chasity, Chase, Drew, Zachary, Dan, Kristen, Elysha, Teddy, Travis, Keenan, Nicole, Jesse & Jacob. Predeceased by Mother Wilma Wills & Father Schubert Dankers, Husband Alexander Kosolowski, Mother & Father in law Elena & Peter Kosolowski & many brothers and sisters-in-law. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place in Two Harbors at a later date.
