DARRYL PENASSI

With profound sadness, our family celebrated the life of our beloved brother Darryl Penassi, who peacefully passed on January 12, 2026, at TBRHSC's ICU, was surrounded by his cherished family.

Darryl's journey began on February 22, 1966, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where he grew into a devoted and skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic.

His passion for the outdoors shone brightly, especially on Lac Dec Mille Lac lake, where fishing brought him joy beyond measure. Alongside his brothers Warren and Randy, Darryl shared countless moments of brotherly love, laughter and adventure, both in Randy's garage and at his brothers' camps.

His heart overflowed with generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand, and his pride was rooted in his unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Darryl's tender touch and warm hugs made everyone feel seen and loved a gift that blessed his children, Ann-Marie and Kyle, and his stepson Jamie.

Darryl leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of his partner Debbie Bird, daughter Ann-Marie (Tyler), son Kyle, stepson Jamie (Lauren), grandchildren, cousins, as well as his brothers Warren (Maureen), Randy (Rhonda), sisters Cynthia, Wendy (Hector), and his mother Mae Penassi.

Though Darryl's earthly journey concluded, he survives in spirit by the memories and love he shared. He was lovingly remembered by his family and predeceased by his father Michael Penassi and his partners parents Joseph Sr. and Lauretta Bird.

To the ICU staff at TBRHSC, our heartfelt thanks for your kindness, care, and compassion during Darryl's journey; your dedication allowed us to find strength to rest, knowing he was in such capable and caring hands.
