DAVID HUSTON Obituary

DAVID BOYD HUSTON 1970 ~ 2024
It is with great sadness, the family of David Boyd Huston announce his unexpected passing on Nov.14,2024 at the age of 54. David loved spending time with his kids, family, and friends more than anything. He had a passion for sports, playing baseball and hockey, and coaching the Current River Comets for years. He was a dedicated, well-known local meat cutter who mastered the art of cutting meat with such passion that he opened his very own shop, Dave's Fresh Meats & Deli.

He was full of joy, always bubbly, witty, and known for his famous pirate laugh that could fill a room with warmth and happiness. Dad had the biggest heart and was a true people person who brought so much love and laughter to everyone around him.

Left to mourn are his son Zachary, daughter Brooke (Dylan), sisters Patrice (Richard), Carol, Brothers Tom & Darin (Robin), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by parents Ken & Maureen, older brother Larry "Howie", Melissie and nephew Dau. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

So sorry to hear of David's death. Although I didn't know David personally, as a member of the Houston/Huston clan, I'm always sorry to hear of a death of one in the clan, especially one who's relatively young.

This is shocking news. I´ve known Dave since he was a skinny little breakdancer showing off his skills at his dad´s pool parties in the´80s. His dad taught me how to cut meat and later trained Dave. Eventually Dave was my second man at the superstore and we made a great team joking and laughing every day at work and beyond. When I left the meat business I would visit him at his little shop on Kingsway and laugh at the old times. The world is a lesser place without his quick wit and infectious laughter. Rest in peace old friend.

David was my coach when I played peewee hockey for current river, he was always supportive and caring about the players.

A good man, set good examples and showed his players that working together you could overcome any obstacles. Thank you for all the life lessons. Rip.

This is very sad news.
My mom worked with Dave´s dad years ago and we had the great pleasure of getting to know the whole family who spent a summer at our camp, what fun we had.
He was a great kid and will be missed.
My heartfelt condolences to the family.
