DAVID W. KRAWCHUK
It is with deepest sorrow that the family of David. W. Krawchuk announce his sudden passing at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on February 22, 2026.
Mourning are his devoted wife Anne and beloved daughter Deanne (Russell), brother Larry (Judy) Krawchuk and many wonderful nieces and nephews with their families. He is also survived by sister Deborah Hunt and family in Florida, cousins Randy and Wayne Krawchuk and families in Fort Frances and three cousins in the Toronto area.
David was born on January 23, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. He graduated from Selkirk High School and went on to study at Lakehead University where he attained a diploma in Business Administration and a degree in Economics (1967). At university, he met his future wife Anne. He decided to article to be an accountant and received his CPA designation. David thrived in his own accounting firm. Clients respected, trusted and followed his advice while enjoying camaraderie with him and his staff. As a businessman working in downtown Fort William for over 35 years, he had been a long-time member of the Victoriaville Centre BIA.
Just as his work required attention to detail, this work ethic carried over into pristine maintenance of his home, yard, truck, boat and all personal items. David was a Mason (Shuniah Lodge 287), and a Khartum Shriner. He had also served on the board of NWO Military and Police Museum.
David was an avid outdoorsman. He was an expert fly fisherman (catch and release) who tied his own flies. He was one of the founding members of the Thunder Bay Fly Fishing Club. He was also a member and former treasurer of the North Shore Steelhead Association and an active member of the Thunder Bay Trap and Skeet Club. David appreciated the beauty of nature (forest, flora and fauna) and the changing seasons. His family pets were always a joy to him.
In Thunder Bay, David was predeceased by his loving parents Anna and David Krawchuk, twins Aunt Tina (Nick) Pylychuk and Uncle William Kozik along with other relatives in Southern Ontario and Fort Frances, ON.
Final arrangements are with Northwest Funeral Alternative Inc.. As per David's wishes, no service will be held. He was cremated and will be laid to rest at a later date.
